PIT BULL TERRIER

LARGE
This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. Hi my name is Gretta and not only did New Hope Dog Rescue save me from being euthanized at a pound, they are also going to help me with my knees. My foster mom says I need bilateral cruciate surgery, which basically means knee surgery on both my knees. I have already had one surgery on one of my knees and am doing great. I never knew what it felt like to walk on a stable knee. My foster mom is doing lots of rehabilitation work with me to make sure I heal properly and I will hopefully be able to have my second surgery soon. I'm only 2 years old so I'll have lots of time to enjoy my knew knees with you! After I was put into my foster moms home, she found a strange bump on my ear. She asked the vet what it was and we found out that it was a mast cell tumour. The vet removed most of my right ear. Don't worry, the vet assures me that with the good margins she took the chances of this tumour coming back are slim. I just look a little unique now! She also removed some other lumps from my body, to be safe, but they turned out to just be allergic reactions. I'm a real fun loving girl and am goofy and affectionate. I like other dogs, am fully house trained, stay in a x-pen during the day and sleep all night on my doggy bed. I like all types of people big and small, but I do get really excited and sometimes jump up, but my foster mom is teaching me some manners. I am not a fan of cats and would do best in a home without them. My foster mom thinks I deserve a special home, but I really would be happy in any home. So because I need to have these surgeries it would be really great if a few people could help a little with some donations. Make a donation. You can send a little note to let them know you want to help me. Tax receipts available for any donation of $20 or more. Gretta will be available for adoption after her surgeries but we will post updates often. Once her surgeries are done and she has completed some rehab, Gretta will no longer be considered special needs.

This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. I want to share my story with you, because it tells you what a long way I have come from when I was rescued. Since coming into foster care with New Hope, I have learned that people are really great and they DO love me for the handsome boy that I am. Look at my gorgeous coat and smile. I have a heart full of love to give you, without reservation. I am now, very proudly, an indoor door who loves my crate, because it’s like a safe den for me. It’s a whole new way of life for me, but you know what, it is very special to me because of the way I was living. Do you have a crate at your home that is looking for a special boy like me? We could have a really great time outdoors playing in a fully fenced yard to keep me safe and feeling secure, and then come in for my cuddle time. Can you imagine burying your face in my soft, thick fur? I’m a sociable guy, and like other dogs, but you DO need to introduce me/us in the proper manner. If you don’t know how to do that, New Hope will explain it for you. It’s easy. I’m really looking forward to meeting you and moving on with my new life with new hope on the horizon. I am a great guy and would just love a home and family of my own; someone who will not leave me alone and neglected. When you come to meet me, could you bring something special for a treat? Then we can chat a bit about moving to your place. :-) Love, Etch.
LUCKY
AMERICAN ESKIMO DOG / POMERANIAN MIX
SENIOR
MALE
SMALL
This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. My name is Lucky and my foster mom says I am a sweet little gentleman. I am looking for a quiet home for my retirement years, perhaps with a single person or a couple. I'm sometimes a little shy when meeting new people or when there is lots of activity going on. Give me a little while to to warm up and I'll be your best friend. I really am a wonderful companion. I like to go for walks but I'm a laid back kind of guy and just as happy to hang out in a nice comfortable place. I like the outdoors and I especially love to sniff around the yard. I get along with other dogs but I am a mature kind of guy who would prefer to watch the youngsters run about. I'd rather curl up in a soft quiet place and watch. My foster mom says I do sometimes get silly. She laughs at me because when I get really excited I tend to spin in circles. I really am just an adorable little guy looking for a home. If you think we may be a match, send in an application.

This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. Hey, we haven’t met yet, but when we do, you will be so taken with me, you will take me home. Right? Oh, I sure hope so. I love toys. Great ball in that picture of me hey? I just love that ball. Right behind me are the rest of my littermates. There were seven of us in total. You know, we got really lucky, thanks to some kind people who knew we should not be left out in the cold without our mom. They even came to feed us. Thankfully, we were all brought into New Hope Dog Rescue’s care and we have a super foster mom. I am learning that we “are” all loved and have something very special to offer a family. I am very quiet, love my pen, go outside when I need to, love toys, dogs and cats. I love people too, and if you have space on your couch (well, better yet, your lap) for me, we’d be the best team you ever did see. Want to give it a whirl and adopt me? If you bring a ball when we meet, I can show you my moves and we can have a blast. All I want in life is someone to love, share my toys with, and to be told that I am a wonderful dog and part of the family, not something to be booted outside to freeze. I would be the best ever dog. Just wait and see. I am waiting to meet you and play ball. Lots of nose kisses, Sleepy.

This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. They called me Happy, because that is what I am. Look at those ears would you? I love to run, smile, play tag and hide and seek. I love my foster home family and my brothers and sisters. I really love being alive, healthy, happy and loved. I would just love to meet you and show you all the things I have learned in my new foster home. I have learned about crates, how to go outside and do my business, how to play and how to be a very quiet puppy. My foster mom says I have the sweetest disposition and would make some family very happy. Know what? I would love to have a family to call my own. One that would not leave me out in the cold to fend for myself. One who had room in their hearts and home for me to grow, share my toys with them and just love them to bits and pieces. I am a very loyal and affectionate pup. Can we spend some time together and talk about adoption? I’ll bring the toys, or a ball or anything you want if you bring the loving. Please come soon. Love, Happy.

This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. This is sweet maggie...but I lovingly referring to her as 'magic maggie', for a few reasons. *Maggie has endured some really tough and heartbreaking circumstances that brought her to New Nope. *Maggie has been a real magician with navigating through all it and still remaining a lovely, gentle girl. *Shortly after arriving to new hope it was discovered that Maggie had mast cell cancer. Maggie had surgery to remove tumors. Throughout all of this, what has remained intact with Maggie is her amazing loyalty, a fierce desire to be loved, an adoration for all people, and a gentle and sweet nature that still amazes me considering everything! In all that Maggie has been through we have discovered that one of the greatest joys Maggie has in her life is people, especially children!. Maggie spends part of her day at a child care center and whimpers at the sight of the children and now races to get in the door to see them! She surpasses the word 'gentle' when it comes to her interactions with the children! At the moment Maggie does not even come close to resembling a sick dog. She's a happy loving girl. At some point her cancer will likely claim her but we don't know when that will be. Maggie could move to a permanent home where she will be front and centre. If you would like more info on Maggie or would like to meet her please contact new hope dog rescue...who couldn't use a little 'magic' in their lives!

MEDIUM
This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. \ Hi my name is Mackenzie, but my foster mom sometimes calls me Minka, because I have such a very elegant coat. I would make a loving and loyal companion to a lucky person. I am smart, well behaved, housetrained and happy to learn new things for treats. Car rides are another one of my favorite things. I get along with the other dogs, at home and at the off-leash park, but I would rather be cuddling with my human. My life up to now has been a little too exciting. I have an old bullet in my left shoulder and just finished raising a lot of puppies. I walk with a limp but can pop up and down stairs no problem. I've also surprised my foster mom with how I can race around the yard when she gets me going. I follow her happily on a loose leash, and a few daily exercises (Pending Dr. Pinto on Tuesday!!!) I am gaining more flexibility everyday. UPDATE: MacKenzie's shoulder has some damage related to the bullet in her shoulder. In addition MacKenzie has some mild arthritis in her hips. She is on glucosamine and Omega-3 to help with that. She is being started on pain meds and will will be doing rehab with all of January Dr. Pinto at the Veterinary Medical Centre at the Vet College which will be followed by an evaluation determine if she will need surgery on her shoulder. MacKenzie is not available for adoption until surgery is done or it is deemed not necessary

APOLLO
BELGIAN SHEPHERD MALINOIS
BABY
MALE
LARGE
This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. Apollow is just a wonderful boy and to us he looks pretty much all Malinois and not much else in him. He is a sweet boy who likes nothing better than to play with his toys or his foster buddies Bear, Happy and Sleepy in his foster home. He is doing well with his crate training and will go in for a nap or to chew on his rope toy with no problems. He is approx 4 months old at Xmas time. Apollo is a bit of a snuggler and sucky boy and has bonded to his foster momma in a matter of hours. He walks well on leash and is all around a lovely puppy! Apollo had surgery Jan 2nd. He had an old fracture on one hind leg and another at the hip joint on the other side. He had a femoral head and neck excision to deal with a poorly aligned fracture right at the joint. This should help his mobility and hopefully help him in the long run.

This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. Bear with me, while I do the formal introductions. I have a really good sense of humor, so let me entertain you for a while. My name is Bear, and I was born September 1, 2011. I hail from the Loon Lake area and my foster mom says I am a delightful mix of Labrador retriever, Heeler and Collie. Sounds a bit like a Caesar salad, but if you take a good look at me, you’ll see I am going to be one really handsome fellow (who does stand-up comedy). :-D My foster mom says I have the most amazing eyes, and you can sort of see them in the picture, but really, to get the full effect, come visit me. We can try hypnosis – and. You. Can. Take. Me. Home. No, seriously. Let’s talk. I know we’d be good together and I love other people and dogs. I’m really friendly too. A good family dog. If your family is looking for a good dog, with a great smile and a delightful personality, that would be me. You bring the dog biscuits, I’ll bring the toys. Fair trade, hey? I am a pro at sleeping in my crate and am completely house trained. Yay, me!! Truth be told, I was really quick to pick that up. See, I learn things really fast and then once I know I have them down pat, I like to sit in your lap. That’s my other secret. I love a good rawhide snack and a cuddle, but there are times when I just trot off to the crate for down time and take my boney-oh with me, of course. Just in case you are wondering, I will be about medium size when I grow up. Not a big honking guy, but one that is just about the right size to fit under the coffee table or chair where you are, so I can stay close to you. Please, come meet me. I think it’s time we met. Love and wet nose kisses, Bear. OOXX

You don’t meet too many dogs named after cars, now do you? Seriously though, think about this. KIA’s are smart cars, look sharp and some say, distinctive, and guess what? That’s ME! I mean look at those ears. They are a thing of beauty and a joy to behold. Okay, they will also be a conversation piece, but you know why else they are great ears? It means I can listen for the footsteps and voice of my special person. I am a very social girl and happy as all get-out. I’m not shy and have a good deal of confidence, not to mention the fact that I am super smart, and learn things very fast. If you want to know how fast I crate trained, talk to my foster mom. She is so pleased with me. I am also doing very well with potty training too. I’m still just a kid, but growing into a beautiful girl. What am I? My foster mom isn’t one hundred percent sure of my lineage, but the most important thing is that I am intelligent, outgoing, smart and will be gorgeous. Oh, did I forget to mention adorable as well? :-D I love snuggling and you will love my super soft fur. I could almost be your new jammie bag, minus the zipper of course. Are you ready to fall in love? I sure am, and would love a home of my own, with a special person. Please come visit me and let’s talk about my super ears and your great big heart that will love me unconditionally. I’ll be waiting for you. Love, Kia (xxoo)

Buffy is a 12 lb, 5 year old Shih Tzu/Bichon mix. She's a loving little dog who is great with other dogs and ignores cats. Buffy is crate trained, housetrained, and likes to go for walks. At this point she does not know tricks but she's a smart little girl, so would learn them quickly if someone wanted to train her. Buffy was not well socialized when she was young, so she is frightened of men. She is curious about children but she is skittish when they run or make a lot of noise. Buffy would do best in a quiet home. She would be happiest in a home with a single female person but with love and patience she could learn to adjust to another situtation.

You know, my favorite television program is Golden Girls – the re-runs that is, and if I get a chance to snuggle with my special person. I’m a Lab/Shep mix and really have a very distinctive face. All the better when I smile for my foster family. :-D Actually, I would really like to have a special person of my own; to have someone just love me for who I am. I’m one of the happiest girls my foster mom has even seen. I love playing and kids. It would be best if my new family had older kids, or no kids. Don’t get me wrong. I love ALL kids, it’s just that my tail never quits wagging, and I might topple over a little one, and that would break my heart. I am proud to report that I am create trained and house trained. Woo hoo for me! And, I am one smart cookie. And speaking of cookies, when we meet (oh, please – can that be soon?) could you bring a really nice cookie for me? Oh, thank you. I have great manners and will grow up to be a great dog with you by my side while we take obedience classes. Structure in my life is super important, because I didn’t have much guidance before, and we all know if you don’t train a dog, you get what you get. So, four paws forward, onward to my new foster family. I really would like to meet you. I’ll show you my super manners and we can talk about toys and stuffies. :-D See you soon. Love, Goldie.

Jersey here; and I would love to meet you. I’m just one of the nicest dogs you will ever meet, and extremely loyal, loving and faithful. These qualities are really important to me, because my family did not have time for me, and yet, I had all the time in the world for them, and loved them fiercely. I guess it was not enough. However, I have new hope on the horizon and am excited about getting a new forever home – just for me, with people who will make me a complete part of their family. You know, go for walks, play in the yard, cuddle in the house, just hang out and get to know one another. Those kinds of regular things would be heavenly for me, and we’d have such a great time together too.

I am looking for a job. That’s right. My job would be to take care of YOU. My name is Dexter, Dex for short and I am about a year and a half old. My family didn’t want me, but I know, thanks to New Hope that someone WILL want me and take me home. I just want to please you, make you smile, be there for you and work hard to be the best dog I can be. Dexter is very smart and eager to have a job; to do something that he is praised for and loved for. Before he came to New Hope, no one took the time to love and train him. He didn’t know what anyone wanted, so he just did his own thing. Since arriving at New Hope he has learned a lot about living a whole new way of life. He is loved and cared for, spends time being trained and has learned how to walk nicely on a leash, wait to go through doors, be patient when about to be fed and his recall his OUTSTANDING. He is friendly, has enthusiasm and just wants to learn about life and have a family that loves him. This young lad will make some lucky family a very solid, reliable, loyal companion. His indoor manners are calm and laid back, and he shows respect. He has a curiosity about him and loves to find out about the world. It’s almost like he could talk and tell you how much you mean to him. This sharp, handsome boy would love to meet you. FURLEY Hey, seen any good dancing dogs lately? What? You haven’t? Then come meet me. I dance when I am excited and my foster mom thinks this is really cute. Actually, I am kind of cute, because I am a Cavalier King Charles, Cocker Spaniel cross and got all of the “cute” genes. :-D I’m about four years old, small, quiet, with great manners, and have a non-stop waggin’ tail that goes into overdrive when I see and greet you. I also LOVE squeaky toys, and if you and me could play tug with one of them – oh, that is my idea of pure heaven. You up for it? We could have a really good time; me and my squeaky, you and your smile and laughter, telling me what a good little guy I am. You know what? We’d make such a great family together. Oh, and let me tell you about going for a walk. That is on my A-list of things to do, and I am good to go with you any time. When we get home, I make a mad dash for my best toy and bring it back to you, hoping we can play for a bit, before a treat or two. Okay, I admit it. I like treats too, but I’m so cute you’ll just smile and sneak me an extra one. I do love kids, but honestly, some younger kids in the past have pulled hard on my hair and it just plain hurt. You have older kids? Then we’d be best buds. I just know it. I know they would be gentle with me. Or, if you don’t have kids, you and me can hang out and share stories. Life’s good. I look forward my new home with you. Please, come meet me, and let’s talk about sharing squeaky toys and walks. Love, Furley XXOO

Within a few days, Breyer has learnt that things like toys, bones, and dog beds are the best things EVER. He's working on learning his basic puppy manners, and he's doing really well so far! He's a pretty smart little guy, and mastered 'sit' in 15 minutes! Breyer is just a happy-go-lucky, active and curious puppy who loves to be at your side. Breyer is high-energy, and when he's old enough, he would make a perfect running buddy! Now that he's discovered how wonderful human affection can be, he can't seem to get enough of it. He will need a family that will continue to work with him, to help him become the best puppy he can be! This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill our Adoption Application. Meet and greet are by appointment only. My name is Cherry and I’m just the cutest lil lady you’ve ever seen! I may look tough with the scars on my face, but I’m a lover, not a fighter. The porcupine that gave me these scars just didn’t want to be my friend I guess. I’m a shy lady but warm up to people quickly, especially if you give me FOOD! Cuddling is my favorite thing to do, and I LOVE my tummy rubbed. I help my foster mom with her homework and she says I’m super smart because I mastered the art of “sitting” so quickly. I’m super friendly and affectionate, love attention and I’m great with other dogs. I’m very gentle with children and have great manners. I like my crate and always go to the bathroom outside. I would love to find a home with a family that will take the time to bond and cuddle with me, and introduce me to new and exciting things! I’m patiently waiting for my forever home. Pllleeease contact New Hope to meet me soon! Lots of sloppy kisses! - Cherry
