Adoption Information

If you are interested in adopting a New Hope dog, please fill out our adoption application form stating which dog you are interested in adopting.

Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Our adoption coordinator will contact you if your application is chosen, and we will require a home check. This will entail a visit to your home to ensure that all the information on your adoption application is true, and to address any concerns that you or our home-check person may have about the adoption.

If application and home check are approved, the foster home and potential adopter arrange a trial period for the dog in the adopters home for up to 2 weeks for them to decide if the dog is a match and will fit in to their lifestyle and family. They can at any point (minimum 24 hours) decide that they wish to keep the dog or at any point they can return the dog to the foster home. The foster home will be provided with a trial contract to be signed by the potential adopter with a date that the dog will be returned should they decide not to adopt the dog.

If the trial is a success, an adoption contract is signed and the fee collected (arranged by the adoption co-ordinator).
