Ace

Ace came into New Hope on February 19, 2020 with 8 brothers and sisters when their mom would no longer care for them. He was not quite 4 weeks old. After a few days the foster noticed he didn’t seem to be feeling well. He was taken to a partner vet clinic and examined and treated for his vomiting and diarrhea, within 12 more hours he still did not seem to be acting like a young puppy. He was taken to the WCVM where he is currently in the ICU, they are running tests at this time to see if they can determine why he is not feeling well.

Although Ace has tested negative for parvovirus, parvovirus must be considered as a possible diagnosis in Ace’s case due to the vomiting and diarrhea he has had. They have done bloodwork, x-rays and an ultrasound. We are hoping with the supportive care he is getting he will feel better soon.

Update: Ace was released from the WCVM on February 28th and is feeling much better after he received the supportive care he needed. He has been adopted and found his forever family, March 2020.
