Bella

Bella

Bella came into New Hope after we were contacted by a local Veterinarian Clinic that they had a dog that was surrendered to them because it had been injured. We immediately went and picked up Bella and took her to the WCVM where they took x-rays. There was evidence of a chronic left femoral neck fracture.

Bella had femoral head and neck excision surgery. This is a surgical procedure that involves removal of the femoral head and neck. Many small dogs do well after surgery and the muscles of the hind limb can act as a false joint. After this surgery, rehabilitation is important. Bella did great with her surgery and currently is doing some rehabilitation with her foster home.

If you would like to donate towards the cost of Bella’s surgery, please donate to our Guardian of Hope fund. This fund helps many dogs throughout the year get necessary treatment, including a surgery like Bella.
