Making the choice to re-home your dog can be a complex one, with many factors and emotions involved, so please be sure to give this decision some serious thought. It is also important to explore all of the options and resources that are available to you.

Owner Surrender
If you have a dog who needs our help, please fill out the surrender form below. It will be submitted to our intake coordinator, who will respond to you within 48 hours.
Please be aware that we’re a network of foster homes and volunteers without a building, and with limited resources. Before accepting any dogs into our foster care program, they must be matched with an appropriate foster home. This is why it is crucial that you provide as much detailed information about the dog as possible, as well as a high quality picture.
We request a minimum $50 or $100 surrender fee, at the time of intake as well, in order to help offset some of the costs associated with accepting your dog. We will not turn a dog away if you cannot afford this donation, but we will ask that you instead pay an amount that you are comfortable with.
$50 fee requirement:
To be eligible for this fee, your dog must meet the following requirements:
- Be previously spayed or neutered (proof of spay or neuter certificate is required)
- No outstanding medical concerns (current vet records are required)
- Be over 4 months old but less than 7 years old
$100 fee requirement
Applies to a dog that does not meet all of the $50 fee requirements.
What are my surrender fees used for?
Every dog that joins our rescue are examined by a veterinarian.
- Welfare exam
- Spay or neuter surgery (age appropriate)
- Updating vaccinations
- Microchip
- Dewormer
- Blood work and urinalysis is done on all senior dogs
- Dental
Found Dogs
If you have found a friendly dog who you believe is homeless and you would like to transfer the dog into New Hope’s care, please ensure you have taken the following steps first in an effort to locate any owners:
- Take the dog to a vet to be scanned for a microchip (no charge).
- Contact your local animal shelter to file a found report.
- Post flyers where you found the dog.
- Post a found ad online (kijiji, facebook – your page, Saskatoon & Area Lost and Found Dog Alerts – https://www.facebook.com/groups/472951222725121/)
- Please hold on to the dog for a minimum of 72 hours if possible (this is the general stray holding period shelters/rescues utilize).
Once you have taken these steps to locate any owners, please fill out the surrender form, with as many details as you can provide based on what you have learned about the dog since taking them into your care.
