Lady Lou

Lady Lou

Lady Lou arrived with New Hope in late April. She came in with a litter of puppies. We are thrilled she has had her last litter of puppies. She had a couple of teeth that had pulp exposure and needed to be removed. They were removed during her spay.

During her spay it was discovered that she has several tumours of the mammary glands. The veterinarian was only able to remove the tumours on the one side. She will go back in for another surgery in a month, once she has recovered from her first surgery. The tumours were sent out to be biopsied to ensure there is not a health concern with her.

Benign and malignant tumours of the mammary glands occur fairly frequently in female dogs that aren’t spayed. We encourage you to spay and neuter your pets.

If you would like to contribute to Lady Lou’s care, please consider donating to our Guardian of Hope fund. All funds donated go directly towards major medical costs for dogs like Lady Lou.

Update: Lady Lou found her forever home in July 2020.
