Cricket

Another rescue reached out as they had a dog desperately needing help, it was feared that he was suffering from rickets and was not going to be able to get the nutrition he needed unless he came into a foster home. On Feb 16th he arrived and seemed like a bright and happy puppy but on the 19th he seemed to have less energy and the morning of the 20th he had diarrhea and refused to eat his breakfast. He had his intake appointment scheduled for that morning so his foster called the clinic from the parking lot and let them know his situation. First step was to perform a parvo snap test, when that came back positive he was taken directly to the Small Animal Clinic at the Western College of Veterinarian Medicine to be put into isolation.

On Feb 22nd the clinic called to say that the boy was bright, alert and well enough to go back to his foster home with just a few medicines, he wouldn’t even need extra fluids. Cricket’s foster home tells us that he is so happy and active that had they not seen his positive test they wouldn’t believe that he was ill.

Casper will spend the next 30 days isolating in his foster home then he will be ready to go up for adoption.

Update: Cricket is done is isolation, unfortunately he is now figuring out itchy skin issues so he’s getting treated with a medicated shampoo before he’s ready for adoption but check out these before and after photos!!! What a handsome boy!

Update: This fun loving fella is ready to find his forever home!

Please consider making a donation to our Guardians of Hope program where your donations continue to help dogs like Cricket. 100 percent of all donations towards this fund goes directly to the animal’s medical expenses for major medical care.
