Daisy

Daisy

Mid February we were contacted by another rescue about a dog that had a significant growth on the back of one of her legs. A foster home quickly offered her a safe space and took her to meet the veterinary team at Orchard Vet Care. Once there they examined her and did a fine needle aspiration on the multiple lumps. What was feared to be large tumours encompassing her right hind leg and in her right armpit showed nothing more than fatty tissue. While limpomas are not commonly found in such a large dog, especially not to the size and extent that these ones are the her care team feels that the majority of them can be removed.

Her foster writes that Daisy is a tender and gentle pup, who fills any home with warmth and serenity. Despite her initial timidity, she impresses with her flawless behavior, never once uttering a bark or growl, nor begging for food—she simply radiates quiet sweetness. All she craves is love, evident in her  gentle and affectionate tail wags and cuddles she generously bestows upon anyone lucky enough to be near.

Daisy will be  going for her spay and the excision of her limpomas before the end of March.
Update: Daisy has had her spay and the lump in her armpit removed. The lump has been sent to the lab to see what its makeup is before we proceed to remove the larger one that is surrounding her hind leg. The lump on her hind leg is quite involved and has even found it’s way into her mammary chain. For the moment Daisy is healing from her surgery in the safe care of her foster home.
Update: Daisy has had the lipoma removed from around her hind leg. She is happily healing in her foster home and is expected to go up for adoption in 2 weeks.
