Forrest

Forrest

On Feb 17th little Forrest arrived with an apparent injury to his hindquarters. This sweet and loving little pup was taken to Erindale Animal Hospital where the caring team was able to determine that he has 2 fractures to his left leg. One mid femur, causing the bones to be quite displaced, the 2nd at his left ankle. Due to the placement of the fractures as well as the fact that they were already starting to heal it was determined that this leg would be a continuous problem for Forrest as he grows up, it would never grow as long, or as strong as his right. For that reason it was determined that this leg will need to be amputated, making Forrest a tripod.

Forrest is still quite young and is expected to adjust to life with 3 legs quite quickly.

Update: Forrest has had his surgery and is recovering well in his foster home. He will soon be looking for his forever home.

Update: We are happy to share that this little tripod has found his forever home.

Please consider making a donation to our Guardians of Hope program where your donations continue to help dogs like Forrest. 100 percent of all donations towards this fund goes directly to the animal’s medical expenses for major medical care.
