Luna

Luna

Luna arrived into New Hope’s care on July 12, 2021. It was evident when she arrived she has a bad limp. It was discovered she has a bone chip on her shoulder that will require surgery.

Update: October 14, 2021 Luna is having surgery today to an arthroscope. She has been diagnosed with osteochondritis dissecans?

Osteochondrosis refers to an abnormal development of the cartilage on the end of a bone in the joint. Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD or OD) is an inflammatory condition that occurs when the diseased cartilage separates from the underlying bone. It most commonly affects the shoulder joint but the elbow, hip, or knee (stifle) may also be involved.
