The Only Way to Change the Story Is to Change the Plot

Since 2003, New Hope Dog Rescue has been a trusted voice in Saskatchewan’s animal welfare community. Lasting impact in animal welfare means addressing the reasons why dogs enter rescues in the first place. In 2017, we resolved to turn the page with the creation of our three programs: our Saskatchewan First Nation Spay and Neuter Program, Hospital Care Program, and Animal Safekeeping Program. In 2025, we extended one more program in honour of our dear friend, Gillian Gratton, with the Gillian Gratton Memorial Fund.

Since 2017, New Hope Dog Rescue has expanded beyond what was traditional rescue work to develop programs that focus on prevention: keeping dogs with their families whenever possible. Our work demonstrates that the health of pets and the well-being of people are inseparable, and that by supporting both, we build stronger, more resilient communities.
